ITN Source, the footage licensing division of ITN in London just signed up with global crowd funding platform Indiegogo ‘to provide the necessary tools for documentary filmmakers to achieve maximum success’. In addition to supporting research and providing ITN Source footage, the partnership will also give Indiegogo campaigners direct access to view full television programmes and films from the ITV Studios collection that ITN Source represents. Indiegogo is democratising the way ideas get funded and realized across the globe. From 2013-2014 alone, funds raised by film campaigns in the UK have increased 75% a number that will only grow with this new partnership.
Andy Williams, MD of ITN Source, said: “For those of us with a passion for documentaries it is vitally important that we all play our part in ensuring they get made with as much creative freedom as they deserve. We hope that our partnership with Indiegogo will help achieve that objective in some small way.”
Miranda Fleming, Head of UK Film & Creative for Indiegogo said: “This is a fantastic partnership which will give global documentary filmmakers a unique opportunity to access the knowledge, expertise and archival footage from ITN source for use in their Indiegogo campaign pitch films. I very much hope this will contribute to the ever-growing number of documentary campaigns on Indiegogo. Our partnership with ITN Source reinforces Indiegogo’s position as the ideal partner for filmmakers throughout their creative journeys, from fundraising to distribution.”
