Reelin’ In The Years Productions and Paradine Productions have announced that RITY is now the exclusive agent for clip sales worldwide for Paradine’s rights to The Sir David Frost Archive.
They say: For over 50 years, Sir David Frost conducted thousands of in-depth interviews with the world’s leading politicians, celebrities, musicians and comedians which were aired by numerous broadcasters around the globe, and Paradine controls the rights to a majority of those productions. Some of the many highlights of this distinguished archive are interviews with world leaders such as Nelson Mandela, The Shah Of Iran, Mikhail Gorbachev, Yitzak Rabin, Benazir Bhutto, Margaret Thatcher, Presidents Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton and nearly 30 hours of the now legendary interviews with President Richard Nixon filmed only two years after he resigned from office. Additionally, there are interviews with personalities such as Clint Eastwood, Muhammad Ali, Jodie Foster, Rock Hudson, Warren Beatty, The Bee Gees, Jane Fonda, John Travolta, Elton John, Bill Gates, Martin Scorsese, Paul McCartney, Sean Penn and a moving 70 minute introspective interview conducted with the late Robin Williams in 1991.

StormStock supplies tornadoes, hurricanes, lightning, and blizzards footage for new BBC series

StormStock has provided footage for three-part BBC weather series ‘Wild Weather with Richard Hammond‘ due to air BBC1 December.
StormStock provided over 5 minutes of its spectacular imagery including tornadoes, hurricanes, lightning, and blizzards. Much of the material was shot by founder Martin Lisius on Super 35mm and HD, including dramatic views of rotating supercell thunderstorms and twisters racing across the US Great Plains. The episodes include “Wind – The Invisible Force,” “Water – The Shape Shifter,” and “Temperature – The Driving Force.” Lisius worked with Oxford Scientific Films who co-produced the program with Terra Mater Factual Studios.

As the Video Producer for the top tourist attraction in the UK, you will contribute to implementing change within this rapidly modernising and world-renowned setting.
The Video Producer will be responsible for creating, producing, directing and editing the short-form video programming formats which will sit at the heart of our new portfolio of web, mobile, social media and big data-driven products.’

Key areas of responsibility:
• Generating a steady output of video material on aspects of the British Museum’s work and Collection, its curatorial expertise and activities in the world on a variety of platforms
• Devising new video programming formats: creating concepts for short-form video formats, and shooting test versions for trial in our social and marketing channels
• Working with our data teams to measure the impact of those concepts, and then optimising the format for scale out into ongoing programs
• Generating frameworks: building frameworks and processes for the production of video in the Museum and enabling staff to self-serve production in formats such as Google Hangouts
• Working with the Head of Creative – Broadcast, Head of Creative – Digital, Editorial Managers and other creative team members to develop mixed-media social media content formats and testing and optimising them for release in our digital channels

Crowd-curated video news service Newstag has appointed Mat Ekholms as CTO in a move to support the company as it develops its innovative approach to news sharing through social media.
Besides managing development teams, as a programmer Ekholm has built systems including the APTN video net and the JPEP encoding technology, used for secure and efficient encoding of box office films and digital cinema.
Ekholm says: “I’m glad to be joining Newstag at a stage where we can innovate at rapid speed. Newstag is set to handle video in a way not seen before and it’s a great challenge for me – I hope we’ll have a chance to make a real difference, not only from a digital perspective, but for the world as well.”
Newstag CEO, Henrik Eklund, has described Ekholm’s appointment as a valuable development: “We’re extremely proud and happy to have Mats join our growing team of high calibre professionals in our quest to change the media landscape. The announcement follows an investment of $1.3m into Newstag from a group of private and institutional investors. In recent months, the company’s rapidly expanded its network of commercial and content partners as it gears up to launch its application later this Autumn.

New recruits to the London editorial team new Features Reporter Emma Lowe previously of The Daily Mail, and two new Live Content Researchers; Mark Hodge and Rebecca Lewis. Mark is a former social media consultant and Huffington Post blogger and Rebecca was previously at Yahoo! Also joining is former CNBC Video Editor Kyle Waters. Finally former Bizarre magazine news editor Alix Fox joins as Head of Social Media. Alix also presents Barcroft TV’s weekly round up show ‘Top 5 Shorts’.
Alex Morris, formerly head of digital at Barcroft Media has been promoted to Creative Director, overseeing content and partnerships across the business.
The editorial team’s restructure sees internal promotions with Jack Fletcher promoted to Head of Content from Assistant Editor (News), and former Senior News Reporter John Balson rising to News Editor.
Former ITV production manager and online strategist Adam Mudditt has been appointed as the company’s Head of Video Production with a remit to manage the video production team and enable Barcroft TV to increase its output across multiple new online video channels. Adam will also be managing distribution schedules and processes.

MotionElements introduces ‘visual similarity search technology’ – Beta

Singapore based royalty-free stock animation, video footage agency MotionElements has announced the launch of its improved search engine featuring new powerful visual similarity search technology to help stock media buyers find relevant content faster.

They say: VisualSearch is a visual similarity search engine technology that allows users to find content with a heavier emphasis on visual cues.
At launch, VisualSearch in MotionElements allows its buyers to narrow down search results to the most visually relevant clips by providing a reference image. Buyers can also start a keyword search and use one of the results as a reference to further filter the search. This allows buyers to find content with fewer pages indexed compared to a standard keyword search.
Mark Sun, Co-Founder of MotionElements explains “What sets us apart is that, on top of our extensive video footage library, we also have a huge selection of stock animation and After Effects templates. This often places a heavy burden on having the correct keywords to describe, for example, animated video backgrounds with keywords like Swirly Lines or Curvy Wave”.
He further explains that, “Our new VisualSearch bridges that gap. The visual nature of the search overcomes the various language and semantic limitations inherent to keyword searches. This effectively globalizes search for all languages, which in turn gives our Artists confidence that their content can be found by buyers with less emphasis on the keywords”.

• VisualSearch (In partnership with Pixolution) in MotionElements is currently launched as a Beta feature. Further improvements are to be implemented as more users become acquainted to the new search feature.

YouTube music administration service AdRev has announced the appointment of Brian Felsen as company President. Felsen will drive strategy and growth as well as develop new products for AdRev.
They say: “Brian is a trusted and seasoned leader who consistently delivers results.
